  A good breakfast place is very important to me. There aren't a ton of options in Deep River, and fortunately Bears Den does not disappoint. Very good breakfast. As it's popular, I'd recommend calling ahead for reservations.

  The service was very good. This was a group event with a fixed limited choice menu but all three choices were well done and presented. Bernice Blimkie came out of retirement to make the desserts so the butter tarts and pies we're fantastic.

  Great and friendly service at the Bear's Den. This was my first time visiting the bar/pub area under the new ownership. Food was slightly improved and was quite good. The restaurant side had excellent food and I've heard great things about the Indian buffet.

  The waitress was pushy and grew irritated with us quickly when we were not ready to order after having just sat down not long prior. She mentioned a buffet but no price which took our promoting and was "around $30 a person." I ended up ordering the venison and wild boar burger. It was quite dry and very tough. There was a very nice smoked cheese on it and the bun was decent but the whole effect was ruined by iceburg lettuce and a clump of red onions. I paid extra for the sweet potatoes fries but wish I hadn't as they were quite bland. The food my family ordered was mediocre at best as well and all of it took quite a while to arrive despite us being the only ones in the restaurant. While waiting for our food she took a call and told the caller she was too busy to name off all the salads on the menu, yet again we were the only people in the restaurant aside from those eating at an already manned buffet service. She was apparently also too busy to check up on us as to how our food was. When finished she asked if we would like coffee or desert and we had to remind her about the children's desert that came with their meal. The whole meal came to just under $50.00 with no alcohol being ordered. This is not the first time I have eaten here and received sub par service but it will be the last.
